From Book Into Movie – One Day by David Nicholls

Setting in Edinburgh ( my favorite city ), played by Anne Hathaway (my favorite actress) AND directed by Lone Scherfig (my favorite director from An Education) give me plenty reasons to like this movie, One Day, based by a novel by David Nicholls will premiere on 2011.

One Day cast

It’s 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley have only just met. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. Over twenty years, snapshots of that relationship are revealed on the same day—July 15th—of each year. Dex and Em face squabbles and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears. And as the true meaning of this one crucial day is revealed, they must come to grips with the nature of love and life itself.

My Life in France

My Life in FranceMy Life in France by Julia Child

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this book so much.. definitely will be the kind of book that I’ll re-read over and over again. It’s partially biography, cookbook, inspirational book and a bit of travelling. So if you’re into travelling, cooking and inspiring women, this book is for you. It has nice pictures taken from her husband, Paul Child too, so we can have a clearer picture. This book inspires me in so many ways. It’s mainly about never give up / underestimate your passion and it’s never too late to pursue it. Julia Child is in her mid 30’s when she first started cooking and she never rush the process.. it’s not the success and wealth that she’s after.. OK I can go on and on about this book but it’s better if you read it yourself. Reading this book makes me enjoy French cuisine more =).
